Collagen Induction Therapy

collagen induction therapy largo

Collagen Induction Therapy (C.I.T.) in Largo, aka micro-needling, is a skin rejuvenation procedure that uses microscopic needles in a pen-like device to create tiny microscopic channels in the skin. These tiny channels open up the pores to enable maximum absorption of topical nutrients, and jump start your body's own regeneration process. Collagen Induction in largo is the only skin rejuvenation procedure that maximizes penetration of cell nutrients, and maximizes the release of the growth factors associated with “positive” wound healing. This minimally invasive procedure has little to no down-time and is a great alternative to surgery and fillers as it rebuilds your skin’s foundation, making it stronger and healthier.

New Clients: C.I.T. can not be performed on your first visit. A consultation with a facial is required to determine if this procedure is right for you. We may need to patch test, and prescribe a pre-treatment protocol (if needed).

The Treatment

The Collagen Induction Therapy aka ( microneedling) treatment starts with a deep cleanse of the skin to wash away makeup and impurities. Then the skin will be prepped by applying the targeted treatment serum. Using the automated C.I.T. pen, we will glide over the serum to create microscopic channels to increase absorption of the advanced serum.. Red LED light is applied to reduce inflammation, and aid in the recovery and rejuvenation process.

You may purchase a mask for home to use the next day. We ask that you refrain from strenuous activity and direct sun exposure for the first 48 hours to prevent the possibility of infection or post inflammatory pigmentation. After 48 hours, you are free to return to your normal activities, but please use SPF every day, and follow your prescribed homecare regimen.

  • What to expect after microneedling (CIT).

Most people may experience mild redness, and possibly some swelling, the same way you would feel after a mild sunburn. This will usually go away within 24 to 48 hours.

Once the healing process takes place within a few days, you may feel tight, itchy, and experience some flaking. We have a natural healing cream by Zensa for purchase that helps to relieve the discomfort, and works great as a moisturizer.

Make sure you refrain from strenuous activity and sun exposure for the first 48 hours. Drink plenty of water, and follow the post-treatment instructions exactly. We will provide a handout with the post-care instructions that will include your customized home care regimen. It is important to be diligent in your aftercare, to minimize adverse affects.

  • Will it be painful?

You may experience some discomfort, but the procedure is not usually very painful. A topical anesthetic may be applied to drastically ease discomfort but we find that most patients don’t need it.

Immediately following C.I.T. and for the first 24 hours, do not wash your face or apply any topical products other than the serum that is prescribed. If you feel some irritation, you can apply a cold compress.

The products we recommend are formulated for use with C.I.T, safe, and non-irritating. Please refrain from returning to any other skincare products for at least 3 days post treatment.

  • Do you perform this with PRP?

We do not offer this treatment with PRP. Instead, we use the growth factors derived from bone marrow stem cells, which in our opinion, is far more superior. learn about stem cells here.

  • How many treatments do I need?

C.I.T/Microneedling can be safely repeated every 4-6 weeks until desired results are achieved. The amount of treatments needed will vary from person to person.

For Collagen Induction Therapy, we recommend a series of 3 treatments to start spaced 4-6 weeks apart.

For scar reduction, 4 to 8 treatments spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart. For hair regrowth, 3 to 8 treatments spaced 3 to 6 weeks apart. These numbers are a general starting point; some clients may require less while others require more.

  • When will I see results?

Results will vary by individual. Some clients can expect to see improvements in in several days to several weeks, however, the full effects may take 3+ months when the full regeneration process is complete.

  • Why do I need a consult for microneedling?

C.I.T/Microneedling is a clinical procedure. We are using sterile microscopic needles to puncture the skin to enable the clinical strength serum to penetrate deeper. Any procedure that is mildly aggressive requires an in-depth consultation to determine if you are a candidate, and a commitment to follow the after care is necessary for best results without side effects.

The day of the consultation, we will perform a patch test to make sure there is no reaction to the serum, and a facial to check the skin. Your health and well-being is our first priority always. We cannot compromise your health or our reputation.
